Description of disappearance
Ms. Arimoto finished her studies in London and was approached by Megumi Yao, the ex-wife of one of the hijackers of Yodo-go Japan Airlines 351. Ms. Yao offered Ms. Arimoto a job and handed her over to Mr. Kimihiro Uomoto, another hijacker of Yodo-go Japan Airlines 351, and was sent to North Korea.

Ms. Arimoto married Mr. Toru Ishioka in North Korea. Her whereabouts were confirmed by a letter sent from Mr. Toru Ishioka in 1988.

North Korea claims Ms. Arimoto 'died' in a gas accident.
