Report on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances Session: 128 INFORMATION FROM SOURCE Date: 05-Jun-2022 According to the source: Ms. Kyung-Hui Song (경희송), a housewife and member of the Korean Socialist Women’s Union, born on 27 September 1984 in Gangan-dong, Hyesan City, Ryanggang Province (DPRK), was allegedly abducted on 10 January 2010 from her home in from Hyesan City during a night raid along with other people related to her by agents of the Ministry of State Security, and detained thereafter. Ms. Song was allegedly pregnant at the time of her disappearance. Ms. Song was last seen in detention in July 2010. She was also allegedly interrogated and subjected to torture including waterboarding while in detention. In 2011, a person connected to Ms. Song was informed that she had been sentenced to five years in prison following a “secret” trial conducted at the Ministry of State Security. In 2013, a source at the Ministry of State Security allegedly revealed that Ms. Song was being detained at Hwasong kwanliso, political prison camp No. 16 in North Hamgyong Province. After Ms. Song finished serving her sentence, a person connected to her inquired with the Ministry of State Security as to the date of her release, but the request was dismissed by officials. At the time of the present communication, the fate and whereabouts of Ms. Kyung-Hui Song remain unknown. 2
